Amy Wong Mok attended high school at 162 Austin Rd. in Kowloon, Hong Kong.

Decades later, she now lives in Austin, Texas.

Amy originally came to Texas to attend Navarro College in Corsicana. She went on to receive a B.S. in Human Services and a Master of Education in Community and Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern University. She worked as a psychotherapist in Boston’s Chinatown before returning to Texas with her husband.

Amy says she has always been drawn to activism. She served as the president of the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) for two years and is still active in combating violence against women. She is also the founder and CEO of the Asian American Cultural Center in Austin.
