Christine Cuicchi serves as associate director for High Performance Computing Centers for the Department of Defense. She runs five super-computing centers across the country.

Cuicchi says when she first started in STEM in the 1980s, men in the aerospace engineering field were already getting used to seeing women take on such jobs, and she thinks even the remaining challenges for women in STEM leadership will begin to diminish in the coming years.
