Commentary: Sympathy For The Non-Voter

Not voting isn’t an oversight, or a result of laziness. For some, it’s a deliberate choice.

The midterm election turnout numbers in Texas have left many breathless. It’s being described as a new high water mark for the state, which has a record of lackluster voter participation. But last week Texas reported a turnout of over 50 percent of registered voters. But that also means about half of the people who could vote didn’t.
