This week’s edition of Two Texas Truths and a Lie: three stories are given to two contestants to compete to see who can figure out the fake one. This week it’s two reporters from the Corpus Christi Caller Times going head-to-head: Natalia Contreras and Julie Garcia.

This week’s questions:

1. The recently crowned Miss Texas chose a very fitting way to celebrate her reign. 20-year-old Alayah Benavidez, who’s from San Antonio, chowed down at a Whataburger. She wrote on Instagram quote – “Because does it really get any more Texas than this?”

2. Kevin Bacon was in Marfa this week filming a new TV pilot. He had a pizza party with local teachers. And took the obligatory photo in front of Prada Marfa. But he wasn’t the only celebrity in town. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was also spotted at local favorite Marfa Burrito. No word on whether he’s in the pilot too.

3. The Texas woman who shot to national fame after a video of her donning a Chewbacca Mask and laughing hysterically went viral, has another reason to smile. A university in Florida has offered Candace Payne and her family full tuition scholarships. The school said they wanted her to experience the same joy she created for others.
