It’s time to talk about the week that was in Texas politics. Emily Ramshaw, editor-in-chief of the Texas Tribune, spoke with the Standard today to talk about what’s been going on across the state.

The big story this week caught a lot of people off guard – Susan Combs, former Comptroller and Ag. Commissioner – made a visit to Trump Tower.

“I am not surprised. Trump hasn’t selected very many women yet, she is someone with a long history in agriculture, has a Ranching family,” Ramshaw says. “I think what’s most interesting is that the other Texan who is being considered for this post – current Ag. Commissioner Sid Miller – he and Susan Combs have had tough words for each other over the years.”
