Texas Congressman Roger Williams, who represents a district that stretches from Austin to the Tarrant County line, says he’s never “taken the chicken route” – voting “present” on a measure before the House. Is that a fact? Gardner Selby of the Politifact Texas fact-checking team has the answer.

Williams, a Republican, was responding to a question about why Democratic House members voted “present” on a resolution of support for the employees of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. Republicans sponsored the resolution as a way to force Democrats to go on record regarding support for ICE.
