This week, the Texas Standard asked for you to vote on your favorite state park in Texas, and boy did we hear from our listeners.

The top park, as voted by Standard listeners on Twitter, is Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. Bringing in the silver and bronze are Big Bend Ranch State Park, and Pedernales Falls State Park.

First off, let’s clarify: Enchanted Rock isn’t technically a state park. But, so many of you voted for it that we had to award it the top spot.

Deputy Director of Texas State Parks Russell Fishbeck stopped by the Texas Standard to talk about the economic value of parks and why they are such a great part of the Lone Star State.

Thanks to the Texas Standard listeners out there on Twitter. Through their tweets, they nominated over two dozen beautiful parks and natural areas around Texas.

Now get out there everyone and enjoy your favorite park – it’s supposed to be a beautiful weekend from North Texas to Corpus Christi!
