President Donald Trump claims that a recent poll saying he is historically unpopular is inaccurate, and that the pollsters in question have a history of producing inaccurate results going back to the 2016 presidential election. Is that a fact? Gardner Selby of the Politifact Texas fact-checking team has the answer.

Last week, an ABC News/Washington Post poll reported the president had an approval rating of 36 percent. The president disputed the findings in a tweet.

“The ABC/Washington Post poll, even though almost 40% is not bad at this time, was just about the most inaccurate poll around election time!” Trump tweeted on July 16.
