Lawmakers Want to Cut College Benefits for Veterans’ Families

Some say the Hazlewood Act weighs too much on taxpayers.

For years veterans have been able to tap into a variety of programs to aid in attaining a college degree. One such program is the Hazlewood Act, which exempts tuition for up to 150 hours of college courses. Well – now some lawmakers are saying that the price for taxpayers just might be too much to bear.  So what are lawmakers proposing and will veterans be unduly affected?
