Though the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is likely its most famous horror story, Texas is full of spooky lore. Fifteen Texas writers conjured a collection of short tales called “Road Kill: Texas Horror by Texas Writers“, edited by E.R. Bills. The idea came about after a book festival during which Bills and another writer lamented the lack of an anthology of Texas horror by Texas writers.

“In fact, some of the most haunted places in the United States are supposed to be here in Texas,” Bills says. “I think Texas is sort of a landscape that lends itself to horror.”

What you’ll hear in this segment:

– Who is included in the collection, like the “Stephen King of Texas” Joe R. Lansdale
– Which of the stories is among Bills’ favorite
– What body farms are and where they are in Texas
