If you’re in the Dallas area, Joy Tipping of the Dallas Morning News thinks you should check out events at the Texas Discovery Gardens. Tours, butterflies, chocolate covered insects and a talk by an entomologist on insect reproduction called ‘bug love’ are a few of the offerings.

Folks in Central Texas are encouraged to head to Luckenbach for their annual HUG IN. Mike Sharp from Texas Outside tells us the town is home to a blacksmith shop, the original 1886 post office and one of the oldest dance halls in Texas. The weekend festivities include a Valentine Ball and performances by Dale Watson and Asleep at the Wheel.

In the Permian Basin, an exhibit by French author and artist Hervé Tullet is set to premiere. Rich Lopez from the Midland Reporter-Telegram says the Midland County Library is bringing a bit of France to West Texas. Events this weekend include a chance to meet the artist himself, original artwork, workshops and storytelling.
