Let the games begin! TCU, the number two team in all of college football, showed its mettle against Minnesota last night. The Horned Frogs led the school to victory 23-17, helping launch college football season across the U.S..

Tonight it’s a big in-state rivalry, Baylor vs. SMU. Then, Texas takes on Notre Dame Saturday and Texas Tech battles Sam Houston State. The aggies will try to bring down the 15th-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils tomorrow night.

But, you don’t have to be a hard core college football fan to appreciate the newsworthiness of this moment. From issues over unionization of players to domestic violence, it’s not all about what’s happening on the gridiron.
