Planning a camping trip this summer? Mosquitoes and chiggers aren’t all you need to be on the lookout for.

A recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns that this summer could be the worst season for ticks on record.

Pete Teel, an entomologist with Texas A&M Agrilife Research, shares some tips with Texas Standard for protecting yourself against ticks, including helpful clothing choices and signs you may be hosting an unwelcome friend.

Teel’s team has also developed a web app featuring advice for those heading outdoors this summer, which is available online.
