The Texas Travel Industry Association is inviting the public to join in on its travel and state branding campaign. It’s called “What I Like About Texas.” And as you might guess, Gary P. Nunn’s song of the same name serves as the inspiration for the campaign.

Throughout the summer, the campaign will highlight shared moments, opinions and memories from well-known, and nice-to-know, Texans from all walks of life. Campaign organizers will share video testimonials about Texas experiences, secrets, destinations and activities on the campaign website. The public is invited to submit their own pictures, testimonials and suggestions using the hashtag #WhatILikeAboutTexas.

A recent featured video on the website starred former Texas Governor Rick Perry telling us what he loves about his hometown of Round Top. The answer? It’s 1,001 seat symphony hall.

And that’s the idea here – that the best way to learn about Texas is from the people who call each corner of it home.

You can follow the suggestions of other Texans throughout the summer, and share your own using the WhatILikeAboutTexas hashtag.
