Two Katrina Survivors Moved to Texas… And Fell In Love

They each grew up just blocks from the Katrina-battered Lower 9th Ward. But the pair didn’t find each other until after they moved to Texas.

When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans 10 years ago, people had to get out of dodge, and more evacuees came to Texas than any other state except unaffected parts of Louisiana.

KERA North Texas’ Bill Zeeble introduces us to one couple, both born and raised in the Greater New Orleans area, who met in Texas and decided to call our state ‘home.’
