Valentine’s Day is this weekend – and what’s more romantic than a heart-felt poem written just for the one you love? But wait! Don’t have a rhyming bone in your body? Typewriter Rodeo’s Jodi Egerton has you covered.

 A TEXAS VALENTINE’S DAY POEM

I’m taking my heart, and tangling it with you,

A sweet Texas Valentine for my love so true.

You’re a West Texas sunrise full of golden reds and blues,

And a riverfront festive boat ride, just us upon this cruise.

My heart speeds like a jackrabbit every time that you come near,

And I squeal a little javelina-like when you bring me a Lone Star Beer.

Oh my darlin’ Texas Valentine, I have no doubt,

That we’ll be together through hurricanes or parched, desert drought.
