You know Typewriter Rodeo as a regular segment here on Texas Standard – and now, after five years, the artists behind the on-the-spot, custom poems are coming out with their own book, “Typewriter Rodeo: Real People, Real Stories, Custom Poems.”

Poet Sean Petrie says the book is about the collaboration between the poets and strangers.

“We think it’s over 20,000 poems we’ve written in the last five years,” he says. “For most of them, we have no idea where they are, because it’s this momentary interaction with a person. We give them the poem. They take it and we’re done.”

The book “Typewriter Rodeo: Real People, Real Stories, Custom Poems” is available now.
