Typewriter Rodeo: Texas Creeks

If there’s one thing Texans can count on, it’s that they can’t count on creeks to flow all year. That was the inspiration for Typewriter Rodeo’s Jodi Egerton as she wrote this week’s poem.

Texas Greeks

No water

no water

dry

Nothing but stucks and stones and dirt
The only sound a buzzing fly

No water

no water

no water

no water

I’m wading in dust and beer

Then thunder

drizzle

rain in torrents

In a flash, enough water for a year
