University of Houston Cougars are Primed for the Big 12. Here’s What It Means.

The University of Houston has top-tier academic status, a prime location in America’s fourth-largest city, and a football team full of first-rate recruits. Now it’s possible the Cougars could secure a coveted spot in the the Big 12 conference.

Jason Kirk, college football editor of SB Nation, says a lot of the university’s impending entry into the Big 12 is about money.

“They’ve invested a lot in football, for one thing,” Kirk says. “That investment over the past year and the coming year is anticipated to result in a lot of wins on the field.”
