In the nearly two years since the 2016 presidential election, social media companies like Facebook have started to more aggressively police accounts that don’t seem legit, and ban them where necessary, in an attempt to stop fake news from circulating. But with the 2018 midterm elections approaching, creators of fake social media accounts are using more sophisticated tactics in order to evade detection.
