Michael Hardy from Houstonia Magazine is excited about a new exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. ‘For a New World to Come: Experiments in Japanese Art and Photography, 1968–197’, presents some 250 works: photographs, photo books, paintings, sculpture, and film-based installations by 29 Japanese artists and photographers. It features loans from partner institutions in Japan, including the National Museum of Modern Art inTokyo.

Freelance write and contributor to Texas Highways Magazine, Jennifer Babisak, suggest you make a trip to Palestine Texas. This year’s Dogwood Trails Celebration takes place this weekend. Come out to enjoy the beauty of the dogwood trees in Davey Dogwood Park, and stay for the activities.

If you’re in the mood to fly a kite, you’ll want to be in LBJ State Park for their annual kite day celebration. Ken Cooke from the Fredericksburg Standard says you can bring a kite, or the park with supply the materials to make your own.
