It’s labor day y’all! For many of you, it might be a three-day weekend. But even if it isn’t, we have a few suggestions to keep you busy.

Summer may be winding down, but festival season is still in full swing. Maggie Asfahani, editor at What’s Up Weekly, says you need to check out the Sun City Music Festival in El Paso. The fest is in its fifth year and headliners include Armin van Buuren and Dubfire.

If you find yourself in the Big Country, and hankering for some chili, you’re in luck. This weekend is the 34th Annual Chili Super Bowl in Buffalo Gap, Texas. Janet Van Vleet with the Abilene Reporter-News says the event features the world’s largest chili pot. It’s slightly smaller than a hot tub. That’s a lot of chili!

Joel Luks, from Arts and Culture Texas, loves a good come-back story. That’s why he’s suggesting the FLY Dance Company’s 20th anniversary concert in Houston. The show will feature new work accompanied by a cast of 10. It’s directed and staged by Founder and Artistic Director Kathy Wood.
