YouTube announced Wednesday that they’re releasing a new subscription service, called YouTube Red, by the end of the month.

Over the years, the company has farmed a whole community of content creators – internet celebrities, makeup artists, and others of their ilk. YouTube has shared revenue with these creators and provided them with other resources, like studio space.

Digital savant Omar Gallaga from the Austin American-Statesman has the details. He says the company is now making their creator content exclusive to YouTube Red subscribers for $9.99 a month, beginning October 28.

“They’re saying this is stuff you can’t get anywhere else,” Gallaga says.

Just like Netflix, YouTube Red will offer subscribers access to original series and movies. But, Gallaga says, the company isn’t too keen on the Netflix comparison.

The service will also stop streaming ads along with its videos. The regular YouTube site will stay free and keep its ads.
