Raul Alonzo joined the Texas Standard as digital producer in September 2022 after working for several years in the realms of design and copy editing for the Design Center of the USA Today Network, the GateHouse Media Center for News and Design, Journal Media Group, and the E.W. Scripps Company. He now focuses on applying his skills to help bring Texas Standard stories to life on the web, as well as produce the occasional segment.
Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, Raul graduated from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies while minoring in Digital Journalism. He dabbles in photography, birding, blogging and printmaking and can often be found exploring nature trails or the bargain bins of local record stores.
