Texans love their barbecue. And there are a lot of barbecue masters in the state, making it hard to choose just one place to go to get your meat fix. So it’s no surprise that there’s a festival this weekend that brings all the best barbecue to one spot.

Daniel Vaughn, Texas Monthly barbecue editor, gave us the lowdown on the magazine’s seventh annual Texas Monthly Barbecue Fest (TMBBQ Fest) in Austin.

The magazine invited 27 barbecue joints from their list “The 50 Best BBQ Joints in the World”.

Vaughn says you can expect to see more than sliced brisket at this fest. There will also be delectable options like chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin spice sausage. You might also catch a few celebrities milling about.

“The folks who are coming in from all over the state – they’re here to showcase their best barbecue,” Vaughn says. “They’re also here to showcase some of the fun stuff they’ve been working on.”

What you’ll hear in this segment:

– What makes this an international festival

Check out the festival Sunday, October 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. (VIP entry at noon) at The Long Center for the Performing Arts, 701 W. Riverside Drive, Austin.
