This year’s baseball season is a little unusual because of the pandemic. But if you like your baseball really unusual, and want to be part of the game, there’s Blaseball. It’s a new, web-based fantasy baseball game that tech expert Omar Gallaga wrote about recently for the website, Book and Film Globe. He told Texas Standard that the game is part art project and part creative writing exercise. It was created as a side project by the Los Angeles-based game company, The Game Band.

What you’ll hear in this segment:

– What kinds of weird, non-human players you meet in Blaseball

– How Blaseball’s art and lore set it apart

– How players participate in weeklong games
