Anne-Marie Slaughter Says ‘Balance Is a Luxury for Women’

These key topics are also on the table in the Texas capital, as an estimated 6,000 women are slated to attend the Texas Conference for Women today.

Anne-Marie Slaughter talks to the Standard about the questions typically surrounding work and family life. She is president and CEO of the New America think tank and was the first female Director of Policy Planning at the U.S. State Department – but ended up leading that role because of parenting needs. She’s now written a book about her experiences called “Unfinished Business.”
