President Donald Trump, speaking in a recent interview, said “We have some of the best numbers we’ve ever had,” in regards to border apprehensions.
Is that a fact?
The fact checkers at Politifact took a look at this claim, made by Trump during an interview with Maria Bartiromo, a Fox Business host. Bartiromo asked how the president planned on fixing the economic fallout from the coronavirus. He responded by saying he was always an “America first” person, and pointed to the southern border, claiming “Strong borders. Our border is very strong. We have some of the best numbers we’ve ever had. Southern border, the best numbers we’ve ever had.”
