Radio host Chris Salcedo said in an interview with Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, that justices of the peace in Texas are being asked to choose between giving up their careers or violate their religious beliefs by performing same-sex marriages.
Is that a fact? Madlin Mekelburg of the PolitiFact Texas fact-checking team has the answer.
Salcedo was referring to the public warning that Justice of the Peace Dianne Hensley of Waco received from the State Commission on Judicial Conduct over her refusal to perform same-sex marriage ceremonies. Salcedo says that puts her in the position of choosing between violating her religious beliefs and her career.
