Friday at 1 a.m. a novice white Arlington police officer fatally shot Christian Taylor, a 19-year-old black football player from San Angelo, after the student had broken into a car dealership in the Dallas suburb.
Tuesday’s show we spoke to Jerry Staton, a retired officer turned private sector law enforcement professional trainer about the Arlington case and similar police killings of unarmed black young men. We asked Staton back for Wednesday’s show to help us further disentangle questions surrounding police use of lethal force against unarmed suspects or civilians.
