Friday means it’s time to look back at the week in Texas politics. Here to help is Ayan Mittra, managing editor of the Texas Tribune.

Mittra says Hillary Clinton was more pointed at the Democratic debate last night, after a 22 point loss to Sen. Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire. Sanders bought ad time in Texas.

“He’s had an operation going here for awhile now,” Mittra says. “He had people down here three months ago… Hillary Clinton is starting to get more organized here.”

Speaking of feeling the love, Sen. Ted Cruz is certainly getting some from lawmakers in Texas. His endorsement lists keeps growing and Mittra says he wants to make sure Texas is “Cruz territory.”

“He’s building as much momentum for himself as possible,” he says. “It’s really hard to see Cruz losing Texas.”
