Jurassic World hits theaters this weekend, 22 years after the original Jurassic park captured our imagination. Sure times have changed, and there have been plenty advances in movie special effects over the last two decades. But surely the science of dinosaurs hasn’t changed that much? We are talking about creatures who roamed the earth some 65 million years ago. Well, guess again. It seems like every week there’s a new discovery about these ancient creatures, and perhaps none as remarkable as earlier this week.
Paleontologists from the Imperial College London think they have uncovered preserved soft tissue and red blood cells from a dinosaur fossil.
Tony Fiorillo, a paleontologist and chief curator at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas joins the Texas Standard to discuss the possibility of cloning dinosaurs.
