If you follow sports even a little bit, you probably caught the chatter last week about the possibility that San Antonio could become home to an NFL franchise. That’s big business news.
The city has flirted with franchises like the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings in recent years. But this time it seems like the Alamo city has a real shot at bringing in the Raiders. Their lease in Oakland is up soon so when could the team make a move?
San Antonio Express-News columnist Roy Bragg has written about the Oakland Raiders’ potential move to San Antonio. He says it’s not clear how good of a shot the city has to nab the franchise, but there’s a chance nonetheless.
“It’s a better chance than they’ve ever had,” he says. “Down here, we’ve almost got a jaded attitude about it… I don’t think anyone is particularly excited about it. At this point, we’re in wait-and-see mode all the time.”
