Last month, a U.S. District Judge dealt a blow to the Obama administration by ordering the release of women & children being held at 3 U.S. detention centers. Two of those are in Texas, one in Dilley and the other in Karnes City. Both facilities are run by private companies under contract. U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee based her ruling on an 18-year-old settlement that stipulates how children, detained crossing the border, should be held.

Now the Department of Justice is fighting back. Friday, federal officials asked the judge to reconsider.
