Just before Election Day, bloggers said armed supporters of President Donald Trump were headed to the border in response to a caravan of migrants heading north through Mexico. Is that a fact? Gardner Selby of the PolitiFact Texas fact-checking team has the answer.

Facebook flagged a post from patriotjournal.org as possibly inaccurate. Selby says the site is “dedicated to giving America-loving patriots access to the news the mainstream media won’t report.” The post in question claimed that armed people in the U.S. were forming caravans of their own, and were headed to the border with camping gear, weapons and drones. It said they planned to track U.S. troops on the border.

Another report, from The Washington Post, quoted militia members saying they were making plans to go to the border.
