It’s a fact of life: most of us are attached to a smartphone, and more often than not, it’s an iPhone.

According to Apple Insider, over 40 percent of all smartphones owned in the U.S. are made by Apple. But for all the amazing things an iPhone can do, it can develop its fair share of problems – slow operations, bogged down memory, and all of those updates that rapidly make your phone obsolete.

Never fear, the Digital Savant is here. Omar Gallaga, of the Austin American-Statesman, says often people run out of storage on their phone, which will slow down the phone.

“There is a storage and iCloud usage setting and that will tell you what apps are using how much memory,” he says.

One tip that’s been making the rounds recently is a way to clear the recent memory from your phone, which can slow down when you have too many apps open. Gallaga outlines, in detail, how to clear it.
