E3 Gaming Show Brings News For Fans Of Fortnite And Austin-Developed Anthem

You can now play the wildly popular Fortnite for free on the Nintendo Switch.

This week, the video gaming world is gathered in Los Angeles for the annual E3 trade show. It’s the biggest event of the year for gamers and game companies. Digital savant Omar Gallaga of the Austin American-Statesman’s 512 Tech says Epic Games’ Fortnite, and Microsoft’s next-generation game console were among the highlights of this year’s event.

“[Fortnite] has sort of taken over the gaming industry,” Gallaga says. “It has sort of combined the elements of this ‘battle royale’ genre, and also building. And also it’s a little Minecrafty.”
