Festivals are common in Texas; some are about food, some about music and some just about celebrating what’s unique in one small town. But a new festival planned for April 2020 promises to be something a little different.

David Coleman is the director of the Wittliff Collections, housed at Texas State University in San Marcos. He is helping organize the first ever Wittliff Collections Festival on April 18 in Austin.

“We want to create a cultural repository for the creative culture of Texas and the Southwest,” Coleman says.

The collection includes literature, photography and music.
