Google Gemini’s self-esteem issues

The AI model you can use in multiple Google products apologized to some users for poor query results, calling itself a ‘failure.’

Google Gemini’s responses to user requests for AI-based answers have recently included a lot more personality than you might expect, and a lot of self-blame, too.

Tech expert Omar Gallaga says it’s a symptom of how AI large language models are still growing and learning when to mimic the ways humans communicate, and when to stick to the facts.

Highlights from this segment:

– Google Gemini search results have included apologies for poor information, as well as claims that the AI model has failed the user.

– Google says engineers are working to address the issues.

– Other AI models, including ChatGPT, have experienced personality quirks.
