Google unveiled new hardware products and an expanded focus on artificial intelligence, or AI, at this week’s Google I/O conference.
AI will soon be available in Google Search and the company showed off its first foldable phone. Tech expert Omar Gallaga told Texas Standard the company plans to bring AI to many of its consumer-facing products.
Highlights from this segment:
– PaLM 2 is Google’s new advanced large language model. It will soon power AI functions in Search, Google Drive and Google’s workplace apps.
– The new Pixel Fold phone is Google’s first foldable phone. It opens like a book, and has a 7.6-inch display. It will cost $1,800.
– Google is working in partnership with Apple and others to limit the ability for Apple’s AirTags, Tile devices and other trackers from being used to stalk people who carry them.
