It’s easier than ever to stream video from your phone to your TV

If you have a relatively modern phone and TV, everything you need to stream is already built-in.

Chances are you’ve fired up a Netflix show or a YouTube video on your phone and then decided you’d rather watch the video on your big-screen TV. You could switch to an app on your television, then find the video all over again. Or you could send what you see on your phone directly to the TV.

Our tech expert Omar Gallaga recently wrote for Wired that it’s a lot easier to stream from your phone these days than it used to be.

Highlights from this segment:

– You can stream from any modern iPhone or Android phone.

– Most TVs released in the past four or five years will accept AirPlay or Google Cast streams.

– If you have an AppleTV, Roku or Amazon Fire device connected to your TV, you can stream from your phone to the intermediate device.
