Hungry at the airport? What meal would you go for? You’ve got McDonalds, Panda Express, ultra-buttery pretzel bites in a cup, maybe some cheese bites. One airport in Texas now has a better idea – how about barbecue?

The George Bush Intercontinental airport in Houston offers barbecue cooked on site. And where there’s smoke, there’s Daniel Vaughn, barbecue editor for Texas Monthly. Vaughn says there’s one downside to the process.

“They’ve been getting some complaints from some of folks who are loading the baggage on the planes,” he says. “They just get too hungry out there because there’s barbecue exhaust coming out there all the time, just unceasing.”
