Is There a Future for Wearable Tech?

They say don’t judge from the cover, but appearances are how most people assess wearable tech.

If you have to reach out into your pocket or purse to pull our your smartphone, then you can shave down that time by wearing tech on your arm or wrist.

That’s exactly what developers want you to consider when it comes to “wearables” –  technology meant to be worn on your person.

Omar Gallaga, the Austin American Statesman’s Digital Savant brought wearables to the Texas Standard studio after returning from a wearables conference.

“There’s still usability problems: the interfaces are still not great, battery life is still a huge problem. So there was a lot of talk about, ‘How do we fix these things?'” he says. “How do we make them more wearable, more beautiful, more utilitarian? That was a big theme for me.”
