This month, China landed a rover on Mars, just three months after the U.S. craft, Perseverance touched down.

The name of the American craft is not coincidental – the story of getting to Mars is one of perseverance, as are the stories of the many Latinos and Latinas who worked on that mission.

Reynaldo Leaños Jr. is an associate producer for Latino USA.  On a recent program, the long-running public radio program spoke with some of the Latino and Latina engineers on the Perseverance project. The show is called “Latinos Persevering.”
