My Father’s Ashes Are Out In The Garage Somewhere

A man tells the Whole Truth about why he can’t fulfill his mother’s last wish.

After his mother died, a man tries to keep a promise he made to her – to put her ashes next to her husband’s – his father’s. The only problem is that the man’s father died a couple of decades ago and he can’t find the ashes. He says they are somewhere in the garage – but he’s not sure where exactly. Perhaps they got lost during a previous move.

“My father is in a gallon-size Ziploc bag inside a cardboard box, the way that we got his ashes from the cremation place,” he says. “I thought one day that maybe I should contact the Ziploc people and tell them there’s yet another use that people have found for their bag.”
