Navigating The Streaming Wars

New entertainment services from Disney, Apple and other tech and entertainment companies create challenges for consumers trying to decide which to buy.

The streaming wars are officially on. Disney Plus launched Tuesday, and Apple TV Plus made its debut on Nov. 1. Disney says 10 million people signed up on the first day to watch Marvel and Pixar movies, Star Wars and The Simpsons. Tech expert Omar Gallaga says Netflix, the current streaming leader, can expect a run for its money.

“The problem I’m seeing that Netflix is having is just a lot of mediocre content,” Gallaga says. “There’s some gems, and there’s just a lot of stuff you’re never going to watch.”
