The debate over high-speed rail in Texas is picking up steam. With less than a month left in the legislative session, bills aimed at stopping – or at least – obstructing plans to build a bullet train between Dallas and Houston haven’t reached the full House or Senate for a vote. But it’s not over yet. And one group of rural critics are pooling their resources to hire lobbyists to help them sway lawmakers at the capitol.
Ben Leman is the chairman of Texans Against High-Speed Rail. He’s also a Grimes County Judge. Mr. Leman joins to The Standard to explain the group’s opposition.
