As scientists work to develop vaccines and other medical responses to COVID 19, some technology companies are offering their own resources to help slow the spread of the coronavirus. Their contributions range from donating money and masks, to sharing cloud computing resources with the U.S. government.

Omar Gallaga says Amazon, Google and Facebook are among the companies giving money to initiatives aimed at preventing and treating COVID-19.

“It hasn’t just been monetary funds, or taking care of their employees; it’s also been things like forming coalitions to help scientists, or being involved with initiatives by the White House to try to collect data, or provide other kinds of tech services,” Gallaga says.
