Court filings included in a lawsuit filed this week allege sexual harassment by two officials in Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office. A female former employee of the office named former Solicitor General Judd Stone and Chris Hilton, an assistant attorney general, in the federal lawsuit.

“That former employee, Jordan Eskew, alleges that she was subjected to sexual harassment by Judd Stone, and then that Chris Hilton basically took no action to protect her from that,” said Jasper Scherer, politics reporter for The Texas Tribune.

The alleged harassment was said to have taken place while the two were on leave from the office, working on Paxton’s impeachment defense. Eskew said Stone shared rape fantasies with her, and also verbally berated her. The lawsuit says Hilton witnessed the harassment but did not intervene.

Hilton and Stone were forced to resign from Paxton’s office in 2023, according to the court filings.

“To AG Ken Paxton’s credit, he, according to the lawsuit, was made aware of this behavior and was kind of outraged over it and took action,” Scherer said. “So Stone and Hilton no longer are employed by the agency, but now the subject of this lawsuit.”
