Lights, camera, Texas! Starting tomorrow, the Texas Game Wardens get a place of their own on the small screen, on Animal Planet. The show, Lone Star Law, will follow the Texas game wardens as they patrol both public and private lands in Texas.

Brent Satsky, Lt. Game Warden with Texas Parks and Wildlife, says he’s part of the show. “I don’t know if I’ll be a star,” he says, “but I definitely have a contribution.”

Satsky, who has worked as a warden for 13 years, says that because 97 percent of the state is privately owned, game wardens have more latitude to enter private property.

“Your job can put you in a lot of different, remote, unpopulated areas,” he says. “You never know what you’re going to find… It’s like other police jobs, but it has that different element just because of where we can go patrol.”

What you’ll hear in this segment:

– Some of the craziest things Satsky has encountered, including arresting a bank robber from Nevada

– What happened when Satsky was “inadvertently” shot at during hunting season

–The patrol tactics they use that differentiate game wardens from street cops
